Customer Relationship Management, or more broadly Constituent Relationship Management In traditional organizations, there is a barrier between customers and the company. It's called Sales and Marketing. For non-profits, member organizations and groups of all kinds (including non-traditional companies), it makes more sense to view all relationships as important. For these groups, managing relationships is the special purpose that CiviCRM was made for.
