[[File:Creative_commons_license_spectrum.svg|frame|right|link=wp:Creative Commons license]]
For creative works and documentation, it is best to use a [[wp:Creative Commons license]] license for your work. There is the GNU Free Documentation License, but that license is not better than a CC0 or CC-BY or CC-SA license, perhaps more difficult to apply to source code examples, and not more popular.

The Creative Commons set of licenses are used to support [http://freedomdefined.org/Definition Free Cultural Works].
