This article attempts to collect and translate a response to the 'Trophees Du Libre' Free Software Competition

In particular, the third seciton of the form is requested in both English and French. See http://www.tropheesdulibre.org/-Inscrivez-votre-projet-.html?lang=en http://www.tropheesdulibre.org/-Inscrivez-votre-projet-.html?lang=fr

English Version[edit | edit source]

General principles of the software *
In a few words, what is your software, and what does it stand for.

Developer IDE for HTML and any XML based languages, script languages, like PHP. Includes tag completion and editing, script language autocompletion, project management, live preview, PHP debugger, CVS support, Subversion support (through external plugin) to name just a few of the features.

What are other software offering similar functionalities?

How does your software compare against these?

Support of remote projects (through ftp, sftp, ssh, etc.), the PHP debugger, scriptability, user actions, extensibility to support any XML language, generic KPart plugin support is unique to the application.

Target audience
If your software is targeted at a particular audience, indicate that here.

Professional website developers and beginners as well. Can be used in education to teach the how an XML language should be used and to teach programming in PHP.

What are the most needed contributions (code, documentation, artwork ...)
This will likely not factor into the judging of your project entry, but it will be helpful to publish this kind of information as part of the Trophées du libre contest.

Code and documentation writers are very much needed, as well as financial supporters.

Is your software related to other free software projects? (give details)
There could be another project whose code you use, or uses your code, or uses the same framework, etc.

The other applications from http://kdewebdev.org have tight links to Quanta, altough can be used separately as well: Kommander, KImageMapEditor, KXSLDbg, KLinkStatus, KFileReplace.
