I'm motivated primarily by conscience (belief that the GPL carries with it important implications on a societal level)Free Software advocate, and so it is important in my life to not only adopt Free Software in my own consumption of technology, but also to help others do the same. There is also a business-oriented goal that I have, perhaps secondary to the personal goal. I hope This website helps me to show the business world not only record (both those providing services and those receiving themremember) the things that there is a vibrant and expert pool of resources around this areaI learn, so more technology-dependant companies establish operations here, or contract but also helps me to share that information with local providerseverybody else. ====Where is that page that used to be here?====After years of work, [[Site Goals]] provides more details about the old freephile site started to suffer from neglect because I was just too busy. I used it as a testbed vision for free software projects and my own ideas but did not necessarily keep on top of it. Unfortunately, along came a script-kiddie from Saudi Arabia who defaced the this website. Due to the security breach, I had to take the site offline. It may be gone, but it is certainly not forgotten. I actually still have the whole thing tucked away, safe from malicious doers of evil. Now, I'll be working to bring back the best of Freephile, combined with an improved infrastructure so that others can join me in the effort. A collaborative effort is really the only way to keep on top of things.

While online, I'm busy keeping up to date on roughly a dozen different high-profile Open Source projects from PHP to OpenOffice to the GIMP. [[Interests]] describes some of the technology, hardware and/or software-related things that occupy my time. While offline, I'm usually either working on home construction / landscaping projects or playing with Max and Gabe. As often as possible, the whole family takes off to enjoy the swimming, hiking and skiing at Moose Pond.
